New for ADC 89th Annual Awards:
Early Bird Discount, Two-Day Awards Festival,
ADC Gallery Exhibitions for Top Cumulative Winners

NEW YORK, December 8, 2009 – The Art Directors Club (www.adcglobal.org), the premier organization for creatives in integrated media and the first global collective of its kind, today announced program changes and special new incentives for participants in the ADC 89th Annual Awards.

Early bird discount:
For the first time, ADC is offering a 10% off early bird discount on the entire order for work entered and checked out before January 4, 2010.  Those taking advantage of this special offer should notify ADC by e-mail at payments@adcawards.org upon completion of the entry, reimbursements will be issued 3-5 weeks after the awards’ final deadline. To enter, please visit http://www.adcawards.org/

Two-day ADC 89th Annual Awards Festival:
In a departure from presenting awards at a single gala event at the ADC Gallery, the club has expanded the program to be a two-night 89th Annual Awards Festival, taking place April 28-29, 2010 at the all-new SVA Visual Arts Theater in the Chelsea section of New York.  The state-of-the-art theater was designed by world-renowned designer and ADC Hall of Fame member Milton Glaser, and features what may be the city’s largest kinetic sculpture on top of the theater’s marquee (for more details, http://www.schoolofvisualarts.edu/news/index.jsp?sid0=228&page_id=519&content_id=3088).

ADC Gallery exhibitions for top cumulative winners:
Each year, ADC bestows Design Firm of the Year, Advertising Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, Interactive Agency of the Year and School of the Year, based upon cumulative points for winning work that year.  For the first time with the 89th Annual Awards, those top winners will be able to share their work with the ADC membership and the broader ad community with free access to the spacious ADC Gallery.  Winning agencies can use the gallery walls and video monitors to stage a thought-provoking exhibition of past and/or present work of their choosing, and invite clients, recruits or other VIPs to attend a private event on one night.  The multi-day exhibition will be open on subsequent days to all ADC members, as well as the general public.  Further details to be determined, availability based on ADC calendar of events.

ADC 89th Annual Awards call for entries is now open, with staggered deadlines for submission by category: Design - January 22, 2010; Interactive and Student - January 29, 2010; Advertising - February 5, 2010; ADC Hybrid and ADC Design Sphere - February 26, 2010.  The program is open globally to members and non-members alike.

This year’s program also marks the inaugural ADC-Nissan Student Brief Competition.  Playing off the Art Directors Club prestigious Cube award, students will be asked to respond to a brief for the new Nissan cube©.  Participants will develop a creative campaign or concepts for the US market that make the Nissan cube part of the target audience’s life, using channels and communications vehicles they feel most appropriate to the target’s lifestyle and what the model represents.

A $3,500 award from Nissan will go to the grand prize winner, with $2,500 from ADC going to runner ups.  ADC Gold, Silver and Bronze Cubes will also be awarded by a five-person jury made up of executives and key creatives from Nissan North America and TBWAChiatDay, the car company’s ad agency.  Winners will be announced in conjunction with the ADC 89th Annual Awards Festival in April 28-29, 2010.  For entry and more information, please visit www.adcglobal.org/education/competition.
